Debit Card

A New Way to Pay
Frontenac Bank has ATM/Debit cards that feature the VISA logo. VISACheck ATM/Debit cards from Frontenac Bank replace your standard ATM card to make purchases at over 12 million merchants worldwide where VISA is accepted or at merchants displaying the Cirrus® or NYCE logos. With the VISACheck ATM/Debit card, funds are deducted directly from your checking account, like writing a check. However, you won't have the hassle of writing checks, presenting identification, and waiting for check approval.

You may use the new VISACheck ATM/Debit card, as usual, to withdraw cash at any Cirrus® or NYCE ATM.

How to use the VISACheck ATM/Debit Card
If you make a purchase at a merchant displaying the VISA logo, you will be asked to sign a sales authorization slip, similar to a credit card purchase. If you make a purchase at a merchant displaying the Cirrus® or NYCE logo, you will be asked to enter your Personal Identification Number (PIN). If asked to select debit card or credit card, select debit. It is important to save your sales slips and record purchases in your checkbook. Purchases, including date, location, and amount will show up on your monthly statement. Like checks, purchases made with the VISACheck ATM/Debit card will take a few days to clear your account. Frontenac Bank does not charge a monthly or per transaction fee to make purchases with your card. Some merchants may charge a fee; however, it must be disclosed at the register.

A Safe Option
Using a VISA ATM/Debit card is safer than carrying large amounts of cash. When your card arrives, be sure to sign it immediately and memorize your Personal Identification Number. Do not write your number on the card.

If Your Card is Lost or Stolen
If your VISACheck ATM/Debit card is lost or stolen, call (314) 298-8200. If the card is reported lost or stolen within 48 hours, you are not responsible for fraudulent use. If the card is reported lost or stolen after 48 hours, your loss limit is $50.00.
